Burn ban lifted temporarily

The countywide burn ban has been lifted until Sunday at 5 p.m. Property owners are urged to exercise caution when burning.

City freezes but fares better than forecast

Restaurateur Nora “Sherry” Cecilia Medina, 81, died on Jan. 22, 2026, at her residence in Lampasas. Her Medina’s Mexican Restaurant had long been a fixture in the downtown area.A rosary will be held at 6 p.m. Jan. 29 at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel, with visitation to follow until 8 p.m.
