Commissioners Court sets burn ban for eclipse period

With thousands of visitors expected to arrive in Lampasas County for the 2024 total solar eclipse event, the Lampasas County Commissioners Court on Monday OK’d a burn ban for the period of population influx.

Beef cattle herd numbers decreasing across Texas

According to David Anderson, Ph.D., AgriLife Extension economist in the Department of Agricultural Economics, U.S. beef cattle numbers are the lowest they have been since 1951.

City, first responders making final eclipse preparations

Lampasas-area public safety and first responder agencies are taking precautions and making preparations for the upcoming total solar eclipse event, and officials are urging the public to do the same.

Food, drink businesses ready for travelers

With the 2024 total solar eclipse just 13 days away, area food and drink establishments are preparing for all sorts of possibilities to ensure visitors are welcomed with open arms.On April 8, Lampasas will experience 4 minutes 24 seconds of complete totality when the sun is obscured by the moon.

Texas border security law hangs in the balance
