Unger named Community Champion

Lampasas County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Melissa Unger was named a Misti Talbert Community Champion during a Lampasas council meeting March 25. Unger was recognized for her leadership, resourcefulness, creative energy, dedication to and impact for the community.

Demolition paves way for new construction

Contractors have demolished the former AMVETS building near Sulphur Creek. According to city officials, an automotive parts distribution center or retail store is expected to build at the site.

Wreck at Sunrise Hills hospitalizes one driver

A two-vehicle collision sent one Lampasas driver to the hospital on March 25.Texas DPS Sgt. Bryan Washko said troopers responded to the report of a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of U.S. Highway 190 and Sunrise Hills, just east of Lampasas, at 5:30 p.m. that evening.

Commissioners Court recognizes April as Child Abuse Prevention Month

Each year, more than 600,000 children suffer from abuse in the United States. On March 25, the Lampasas County Commissioners Court brought awareness to the issue by proclaiming April as Child Abuse Prevention Month.

KINDERGARTEN ROUNDUPThe Lampasas ISD will hold registration for pre-K and kindergarten students on April 10 between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. at each of the elementary campuses: Hanna Springs, Kline Whitis and Taylor Creek schools.
