World champion to compete at Riata Roundup Rodeo

Aworld champion barrel racer and Lampasas County local will make her first appearance at the annual Riata Roundup Rodeo next weekend.Brittany Pozzi Tonozzi, three-time world champion barrel racer, will compete in the Lampasas rodeo. This will mark her second local rodeo appearance.

Push-in ceremony inaugurates new fire engine

Local children and members of the Lampasas Fire Department push the newest fire engine into its place at the station around 10:30 a.m. Saturday morning. The ceremony drew a decent crowd of around 50 local residents, city officials and more to witness the event.

Museum’s Teddy Bear Tea Party set for May 4

Every year, children between the ages of 4 and 8 are invited to put on their party clothes and bring their favorite plush toy to the Lampasas County Museum’s Teddy Bear Tea Party.A storytime and brief etiquette lesson are offered, with apple juice “tea,” sandwiches, candy and cookies on the menu.

Church recognizes Girl Scout Sunday

Girl Scout Sunday was celebrated March 10 at First Presbyterian Church. Kenzie Woodfin and Kate Woodfin were liturgists for the worship service, and Torie Lesley was presented a thank-you gift for her leadership work and dedication to the Scouts of Lampasas.

The weather was perfect for this year’s Arts in the Park gathering hosted at Campbell Park by LAFTA volunteers. Families turned out in large numbers to enjoy the many activities, music, theatrical and dance performances.
