Between the ornate, steel columns of the façade and the thick limestone walls within, one could say the echoes of Lampasas’ ancestors can be heard at 513 E. Third St., a building more than a century old.

Sales tax growth seen in June

For most cities in the Central Texas area, June was a much better month for sales tax rebates than May had been. Only San Saba recorded a decline in revenues compared to June 2023, and the gains posted by other entities pushed their year-to-date numbers higher for the first half of 2024.

KWSC customers complain of greenish hue to water

Kempner Water Supply Corp. announced Wednesday it will convert its disinfectant used in the distribution system from chloramine to free chlorine from June 14 through July 14.The decision comes after KWSC members expressed concerned about a greenish tint to their water.

Court records head to Dallas for digitizing

A crew from Kofile Premium Services was at the Lampasas County Clerk’s Office on Monday to load the 748 bound volumes of the county’s land and title records from the last 30 years. The material will be scanned and digitized as part of a new e-document system being implemented.
