Work set to begin on Hostess House

Members of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas, Lampasas County Historical Commission, city of Lampasas administration, Lampasas City Council and community members gathered Wednesday morning at Hancock Park to celebrate the work that is soon to begin on the Hostess House.

Longtime Lampasas banker and civic leader Bob Sutton died June 24, 2024 at Lampasas Assisted Living.Visitation will be June 28 from 5:30-7 p.m. at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel.Funeral services will be held June 29 at 2 p.m.

KWSC issues boil water notice

Following a request for voluntary conservation yesterday due to water quality and availability concerns, the Kempner Water Supply Corporation issued a system-wide boil water notice on Tuesday morning. According to KWSC officials, as of 9 a.m., all customers are under a boil water notice.

The agricultural history of Lampasas County is as varied as its landscape. Early in its history, most farmers engaged in sustenance farming. They raised enough food for their families and had extra to sell and trade, which kept everyone fed and the agricultural circle turning.

Lampasas Independent School District Board of Trustees members held preliminary discussions in a called meeting Wednesday on implementation of a Teacher Incentive Allotment offered by the Texas Education Agency.

Appraisal district reconsiders budget for 2025

The Lampasas Central Appraisal District lowered its proposed 2025 budget by more than $200,000 during Thursday’s Board of Directors meeting at the LCAD office.
