Circus to perform two shows Monday

The Culpepper & Merriweather Circus will be in Lampasas Monday, setting up at the corner of East North Avenue and South Western.The circus is sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Lampasas. Proceeds will be used for scholarships to both Lampasas ISD and Lometa ISD students.Shows will be offered at 5 p.m.

Tickets available for library’s Barbecue for Books meal

The Library Foundation’s annual Barbecue for Books fundraiser will take place Oct. 21 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Proceeds will benefit the Lampasas Public Library.A chopped beef sandwich with chips, homemade Texas sheet cake and a bottled water can be picked up curbside at 201 S. Main.

Cantu trial dependent on two court motions, attorney says

New building goes up along the creek

Construction continues on a new NAPA Auto Parts location at the site of the former AMVETS building near Sulphur Creek. The old building was demolished earlier this spring. MW Hail Construction is the contractor on the project. A date for completion of the structure is yet to be determined.
