Saucedo brings experience to LCAD

Juan Saucedo is bringing more than 10 years of experience as a chief appraiser to the Lampasas Central Appraisal District.Saucedo started his new role on Monday, taking over for former chief appraiser Susan Jones who finished her LCAD tenure at the end of July.

Whooping cough on the rise at LISD

Last week, Lampasas ISD Director of School Health Services Donna Clark issued a letter to parents and guardians of students who have been diagnosed with whooping cough, also known as pertussis.Clark said six students across multiple campuses within LISD have been diagnosed with whooping cough.

Lometa council names new mayor

In its shortest meeting of the year, the Lometa City Council met in special session Friday at 6:30 p.m. to accept the resignation of the city’s mayor and to appoint a new leader.The council moved to its business quickly, reading a letter of resignation submitted Nov. 8 by Mayor Bob Butler.

Fire departments hold live fire training

The city of Lampasas and Lampasas Economic Development Corp. hosted a community stakeholders meeting Wednesday evening at the old middle school cafeteria to collaborate on ways to improve the Lampasas community.
