Decorating downtown for the holidays

Vision Lampasas and Lampasas Community Gardens volunteers have collaborated this year to paint downtown storefront windows in preparation for the upcoming Carol of Lights and other Christmas festivities.

Commissioners hold workshop on courthouse renovation bids

The Lampasas County Commissioners Court held a Monday afternoon workshop to review bids for courthouse renovations that will be completed in 2025.Most of Monday’s meeting was centered around RKJ Construction Inc.’s bid.

Wright to serve as Holidazzle Parade grand marshal

Fourth-generation Lampasan Carol Wright will serve as the grand marshal for this Saturday’s annual Carol of Lights Holidazzle Christmas Parade along the downtown area.Wright is first vice president for the Lampasas County Museum and often finds herself within its doors during parade time.

Area residents are invited to attend the 76th annual Christmas Cantata at 5 p.m. Sunday at Lampasas Methodist Church, 2 Alexander.This year’s performance, “Night of Wondrous Things,” is dedicated to music director Mary Tittle, in celebration of her 70th year with the cantata.

Reports indicate record holiday travel

Welding students earn certifications at recent competitions

On Nov. 15, Lampasas High School Career and Technical Education students participated in the Sweetwater Texas State Technical College Regionals Competition for the Texas High School Welding Series.“We are very proud of our students who did quite well,” welding instructor Jonathan Ellison said.

Huckabee Home on holiday tour

The 1870s home of Zach and Krysta Huckabee is to be one of the residences featured on this year’s museum tour. The 2024 Tour of Homes is planned for Dec. 8. Tickets are $15, and may be purchased at the Lampasas County Museum the day of the event or from any museum board member.
