Fog shrouds cattle and brush west of Lampasas

A dense fog advisory was issued in parts of Central Texas early this week, but forecasts call for a mostly dry weekend with highs in the 80s. The warmer temperatures have been a welcome change after Lampasas recorded a low of 12 degrees last week.

Lampasas County Young Life will hold a drive-thru Pork Chop Dinner on Monday from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at New Covenant West, 1604 Central Texas Expy. All food costs are paid by Benny Boyd Lampasas, so 100% of donations go directly to Young Life ministry. Tickets are $10.

Landowner workshops available this spring

The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension offices of Burnet and Lampasas counties will host a “New Landowner Workshop” series for landowners who want to increase their knowledge of basic land management. All workshops will be held from 10 a.m.

Potential legislation would have local police, ICE working together

District 68 State Rep. David Spiller (R-Jacksboro) has introduced a bill that would require local law enforcement agencies to enter a memorandum of understanding with the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency.

Council to seek engineering analysis on safety of Hostess House structure

The Hostess House project has been a frequent topic at recent Lampasas City Council meetings. That was the case again last Tuesday afternoon, when the council members held a special called meeting.

Child car seat checkup event coming in March

The city of Lampasas and Texas Department of Transportation will host a child car seat check-up event March 13 at the Lampasas Fire Department.The event will run from 2-5 p.m. for walk-ups, and from 5-6 p.m. for those with an appointment.
