Finances take center stage at Lometa council meeting

Meeting in regular session at Lometa City Hall Monday evening, the City Council jumped straight into the fray of business.Mayor Derek Talley set the tone for the night with a reminder of the protocol for audience members speaking in open forum.He outlined council policy.

Trustees review budget; prepare for upcoming bond election

The Lampasas Independent School District Board of Trustees had few action items that required attention outside of the consent agenda during Monday’s regular meeting. Board President Ryan Shahan was absent from the meeting, and Rob Borchardt presided.

Full moon as Passover begins

The skies over Lampasas were illumined by moonlight last week as the holy days celebrated by Jews and Christians started with Passover on April 1.

New parks director hired from within city staff

In November, the city of Lampasas named Jessie Acosta as the new parks director. He started as a park technician in 2006 when he was 23 years old. Acosta now is in his new position and said he is excited to continue serving the city and improving the parks for residents to enjoy.

Hoyer outlines county’s options to limit proposed BESS facilities

Reflecting on the crucifixion
