School district seeks input from community on facilities

TPWD advances new state park project near Colorado Bend

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department announced Monday it had completed the purchase of 1,100 acres in Lampasas County and Burnet County for development of a new state park.The TPW Commission approved the acquisition of the land in January during its first regular meeting of 2025.

The Riata Roundup Rodeo and LTX BBQ Fest will offer plenty of competition and entertainment this weekend at the 580 Sports Complex in Lampasas. Gates open at 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Mutton busting is available before the main rodeo events both evenings.

New solid waste contract begins May 1

Frontier Waste Solutions will be the new provider of trash collections services for city of Lampasas residents. The contract goes into effect May 1.A Texas-based company, Frontier Waste will be responsible for all hauling of solid waste in the city limits.
