Lampasas County 27th District Court convened last week in a special setting on May 22, with Judge Debbie Garrett presiding.At her adjudication announcement hearing, defendant Criselda Torres Gama of Lometa entered a plea of true to a charge of credit card or debit card abuse.

Voting for PEC Board of Directors election now open

Pedernales Electric Cooperative members in Districts 4 and 5 are eligible to vote in the cooperative’s Board of Director Election through June 13 at 5 p.m.District 5 includes parts of Lampasas and Lampasas County.This year, eight members are running for two director positions.

Afternoon storm sends water over the road

Runoff from strong downpours in southwestern Lampasas County on Wednesday covers County Road 1255 near Nix. The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning for the area to caution about the potential of up to baseball-sized hail during the storm.

Kempner council sets rules for benches at municipal park

An ordinance to limit the number of benches at the Sylvia Tucker Memorial Park Veteran’s Memorial was approved by Kempner City Council members in Tuesday’s regular meeting.
