Lampasas ISD takes first step toward bus fleet upgrade

After receiving voter approval in the May 3 bond election, Lampasas Independent School District is taking steps to acquire 15 new school buses.

Three meetings set this month to unveil I-14 route study

The Texas Department of Transportation Brownwood District will host three in-person meetings in June to gather public input on the future route of Interstate-14 from Copperas Cove to Lometa.Currently, TxDOT is conducting a feasibility study on the potential I-14 route.

FREE CONCERTS ON TAPThe Lampasas County Chamber Music Festival is offering two concerts this week. On Friday at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, Lisa Clement will perform piano music by Bach, Chopin and Florian Christl, a young German composer. Box lunches will be served after the concert.

Adamsville VFD Auxiliary gears up for Cowboy Ball

It’s time to put on the dancing boots and get ready for the Adamsville Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary’s Cowboy Ball on June 13 at The Landing, at the Bar 17 Ranch.The event will include everything from fresh barbecue to live music and, of course, dancing.

Vintage vehicles congregate at the Keystone

The Lampasas Auto Company hosted the San Antonio Model T Ford Club Friday though Saturday. Vintage vehicles could be seen outside the historic Keystone Star Hotel property Friday afternoon before visitors visited other popular spots in and around Lampasas.

Foam party draws a crowd

The Lampasas Public Library offered a foam party and cool treats outside in its park to help celebrate the start of its Summer Reading programs. Reading logs are available for children to track their reading in June, and prizes are offered for those who reach various milestones.
