Five properties deck the halls for the holidays

The Lampasas County Museum’s Tour of Homes offers an inside look at some of the city’s interesting and inviting properties, with a nod to the historical. Theme for this year’s celebration is “A Sesquicentennial Christmas.” Lampasas is concluding its 150th anniversary as a city.

Sun Festival scheduled for April in Lometa

As this year begins to wind down and ushers in the holiday season, people already have begun planning ahead for next spring’s total solar eclipse. The eclipse, dubbed the “Great North American Eclipse,” will pass over parts of Canada, Mexico and the United States.

Class of 1958 celebrates 65th reunion

Sixty-five years ago, 73 Lampasas High School graduates walked across the stage at Badger Field to begin their new lives as adults. Although their paths were diverse, many stayed in touch over the years. On Oct.

Chamber Music group to hold Christmas concert

The Lampasas County Chamber Music Festival will hold its first-ever Christmas concert and sing-along on Dec. 7 at First Presbyterian Church. The event is scheduled for 7 p.m. No admission will be charged. Music will be provided by the Artisan String Quartet.

Annual Toy Run rolling in Dec. 3

Tri-County Toy Run of Central Texas will host its 31st annual toy run on Dec. 3, with event registration beginning at 9 a.m. at the Frank W. Mayborn Civic & Convention Center in Temple. The toy run is the longest-running event of its kind in Texas. Proceeds benefit children across the area.

Farm Bureau elects officers

The Lampasas County Farm Bureau board met Nov. 14 and held officer elections, with term limits in place. Heston McBride was elected president, Janet Machen was elected vice president, and Patsy Stoneham was selected secretary.
