Two teams will represent Lampasas at State CX Meet

The Lampasas High School debate competitors placed first and second at the District 24-4A Cross Examination Debate tournament this week. Both teams will represent Lampasas at the State CX Meet in Austin March 15-16.

LPD issues fond farewell to retiring officer

After more than 20 years of service to the Lampasas community, Sgt. Tony Barrio has decided to put away his sidearm, hang up his badge and retire from the Lampasas Police Department. Barrio has invested over 30 years in his public safety career.

Wild West Casino Night benefits multitude of nonprofit projects

Wild West Casino Night is well known in Lampasas as a evening of fun and gaming. Beyond that, it’s also how three area non-profit organization raise money for annual projects and often share the wealth with others. Dorinda Barrett, president of Vision Lampasas, said the event to be held Feb.

Forecasters expect rain, high winds this weekend

Lampasas residents should expect thunderstorms on Friday night and high winds to prevail on Sunday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service. After a week of sunny skies, the NWS lists a 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms for the community after noon on Friday.

Music legends to perform at gala in Temple

For more than 50 years, The Contemporaries of the Cultural Activities Center have raised money to support the CAC, focusing on opportunities for children to participate in activities that will stimulate a lifelong interest in the arts.
