Saratoga Lodge presents Lamar Medals to teachers

Saratoga Masonic Lodge #546 held its annual ceremony May 2 to present Lamar Medals to teachers from the various school campuses in Lampasas County. A large group of guests including family members, friends and school administrators was on hand for the ceremony.

Gun rights advocate to bring his message to Lampasas next week

Conservative gun rights activist Chris McNutt will discuss legislative wins and future plans at Texas First Conservative Alliance’s monthly meeting Tuesday evening. The meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. at Lampasas Community Church, 1601 E. Fourth St.

FRIO COUNTY HONORS LATE SHERIFF A memorial bench has been placed at the Frio County Community Fishing Pond as a lasting tribute to the late Michael Morse.Morse was elected Frio County sheriff in 2020 and served until his death in October 2024 after a battle with cancer.

Strong showing at state contest

Lampasas FFA‘s Agricultural Communications team placed seventh in the Texas FFA state contest, which took place at the Texas Tech campus in Lubbock. Team members are Kara Fitzner – who placed as the third-high individual in the state – Hayden Horton, Rylee Banks and Emory Vineyard.

Farm Bureau earns award from Lampasas FFA

Lampasas County Farm Bureau was recognized May 5 during the annual Lampasas FFA awards banquet held at the county show barn. More than 200 members and guests attended the event, where the Farm Bureau was awarded the highest FFA honor a local chapter program can bestow.
