Lometa Lions Club to award grant to local teacher

The Lometa Lions Club will award a grant for continuing education to a Lometa ISD teacher on June 17.The award ceremony will begin at approximately 7:15 p.m., which will include the pledge, a prayer and welcoming remarks, in the Lometa ISD cafeteria.

51 books in 15 years: Chapman discusses future of writing

With a 15-year writing career and 51 books under her belt, Vannetta Chapman says she’s diving into new waters.The Lampasas writer hit the New York Times Best Sellers list in April with the book, “An Amish Widow’s New Love,” published through Love Inspired, an imprint of Harlequin Enterprises.

County Fair to be held July 9-11 during Spring Ho festivities

Now is the time to start preparing entries for the Lampasas County Fair.The annual fair is an integral part of the Spring Ho Festival. Entries will be on public display July 9-11 at the First Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall, 401 S. Chestnut St.The competition is open to all who are interested.
