Master Gardener certification course available in Burnet

Highland Lakes Master Gardener Association will offer a certification course at the Texas AgriLife Extension office in Burnet beginning Feb. 1, 2023, for 10 weeks. Class times are 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Class size will be limited, and the course is offered only once a year.

Kindred Spirit Ranch celebrates its grand opening

Kindred Spirit Ranch recently held a ribbon-cutting celebration with Lampasas County Chamber of Commerce members, friends and family. The business, located at 1222 FM 580 in Copperas Cove, offers dog boarding and training (group or private), puppy boot camp and grooming.

Local volunteers aid with Alaskan typhoon recovery

The sky was still black as tar. The clock read 3:30 a.m. on Sept. 26. Wayne Butler packed his things and gently woke his wife. Bleary-eyed, Julie Butler drove her husband to First Baptist Church-Copperas Cove.
