The Don’t mess with Texas Scholarship Contest is now accepting applications for the 2023 school year. Any Texas high school senior attending public, private or home school who plans to attend an accredited Texas college or university in the fall 2023 semester is eligible to apply.

The Lampasas High School Class of 1956 is searching for a former classmate. Ola Mae Webb was in the graduating class, an in her senior year she was listed as Ola Mae Smith in the yearbook. Anyone who might have information about her may contact Roland Lang.

Help pets, horses stay healthy during cold winter months

With temperatures dipping lower at night and more winter weather expected this month, efforts to keep pets warm require a few extra steps and precautions. One means is to bring pets inside, said Rachel White, shelter staff and animal control officer at the Lampasas Animal Shelter.

Law enforcement, EMT and firefighting classes at Lampasas High School participated in a skills competition Dec. 10 in San Antonio.

Community Bridge group to meet Jan. 9

The December Community Bridge gathering was held Dec. 12 at First Presbyterian Church’s fellowship hall. Six tables played, with Diane Richie taking first, Melanie Anderson of Stonewall earning second and Martha Casbeer third. There was no slam winner. The next play date is Jan. 9 at 1 p.m.
