Scorching afternoon temperatures may have kept some away from the Kids’ Day Activities on July 8, but those who spent the afternoon at Gavin Garrett Soccer Field had numerous competitions to enter. The Lampasas Boys & Girls Club hosted the activities for youth ages 3-10.
Alycia Cantu was a standout for the Lady Badgers during her time on the softball field, and following her senior year she was named an honorablemention selection on the Texas Sports Writers Association 4A all-state team.

The 14U baseball team the Sluggers won their district championship and now will be playing in the state tournament this month. The state competition is set to start next Monday, and the Sluggers – which consists of mostly incoming freshman to Lampasas High School – will look to bring home the win.
