The middle school volleyball teams swept the Jarrell Cougars Monday night, going 4-0. “It was a great night for the Badgers and an awesome show for our last home game of the season,” head coach Sarah Leopold said.

The Lady Badgers lost in three sets on the road Tuesday night in Lago Vista. The final score was 13-25, 14-25, 13-25.

Turnovers often tell the story in a football game, and they did so last Friday night when the Badgers took the ball away three times – with two interceptions and a fumble. Although the Badgers turned the ball over twice, they were better at taking advantage of the opponents’ mistakes.

The Lady Badgers lost in four sets to Burnet last Friday, with scores of 25-15, 18-25, 14-25, 20-25. The girls came out on fire and took the first set from Burnet, which is now 7-0 in district play.

Lometa welcomed the fourth top-10 team of the season to Hornet Field Friday night but couldn’t keep up with the May Tigers. The Hornets fell 54-6 and begin district play at 0-2.

The Badgers will be back at home tonight as the Taylor Ducks waddle into town. This is the first of just two home district games this season for Lampasas.

The Lampasas tennis team headed to Glen Rose Tuesday morning to meet Krum in the bi-district round of the playoffs. The Badgers started down in all the boys’ doubles matches.

The Lampasas cross country team has some regional qualifiers going to Huntsville in two weeks after solid placements at the district meet Monday morning in Marble Falls. The varsity boys finished in third place, beating Georgetown Gateway by eight points to secure the final spot for regionals.
