Allen scores seven off bench against Llano; Lampasas has most wins since 2001

Rallying past Llano 41- 38 on Tuesday, the Lady Badgers stayed in good position for the playoffs, and one more victory would guarantee a winning season.

Gustine earned a much-needed win, 40-34, over the Lometa Hornets in varsity boys’ basketball Tuesday night.

The Hornets led by six with about 3:00 left in the game, but their 8-for-25 freethrow shooting made the difference in Gustine’s favor, Lometa coach Frank Reyes II said.

In terms of points allowed, the Badgers’ 61-34 win over Salado on Friday was their secondbest defensive game. But for overall defensive execution, Aaron Nuckles considered it the best all season.

The Lady Badgers once again used a big third quarter to swing momentum in their favor on Friday night. They defeated Salado 49-36 after taking the lead with a 12-0 third-quarter run.
