Jonas Andersen started his sophomore season with the Badgers in the best way possible. A 14-strikeout no-hitter put a stamp on a 10-0 run rule win in five innings over Comanche.

The Lometa boys’ basketball team ended its season Tuesday after a 48-46 loss to the Sidney Eagles in the bi-district round. Injuries and a lack of consistent play doomed the Hornets all season and played a major role in the loss.

Now that the Lampasas boys’ and girls’ basketball seasons have come to a close, the all-district honors have been announced. Numerous Badgers and Lady Badgers earned recognition.

The Lampasas powerlifting teams traveled to San Saba last Thursday, and both teams finished the meet in first place. The Badgers scored 57 points, and AJ Luna broke the school record for squat in the 242-pound class.

Just a year removed from former Lady Badger Briana Miller becoming the first female wrestler in Lampasas to win a match at the state competition, another Lady Badger has accomplished that feat and more.

In more competition to prepare them for later district contests, the Lampasas tennis teams got in matches at Copperas Cove on Friday. On a cold day that saw the scheduled competition cut in half because of the weather, each player was able to get in three or four matches, according to head coach Kenneth Peiser.
