Leander Glenn beat the Lady Badgers 55-39 in district basketball Friday night. Lampasas had won the previous seven games.

Lampasas head coach Mark Myers said Glenn’s Gabrielle Thomas (#34) played a big role, as expected.

Leander Glenn took the next step toward an incredible turn-around season with a 52-50 upset over the reigning district champion Badgers on Friday.

Last season, as a first-year varsity basketball team, Glenn lost 81-25 and 97-20 to the Badgers.

La Vega, the Badgers’ last district opponent standing, lost to Carthage in the state semifinals Friday night. With all District 13-4A teams eliminated from the playoffs, the all-district football team was announced last weekend.

The Lady Badgers forced overtime after trailing by 16 points on Friday but lost 57-50 to the Salado Lady Eagles.

Lampasas dropped to 1-1 in district play, 8-12 overall. Salado now is 2-0 in district, with two close wins that came down to the wire.
