Wimberley and China Spring, both teams on the Badgers’ 2021 non-district football schedule, advanced to the 4A Div. II regional finals in separate regions. The Badgers’ district rival Austin LBJ will face Corpus Christi Miller for the 4A Div. I title.

Lampasas rolled to 7-0 with a 59-50 victory over Elgin and a 47-30 win over Lake Belton this week. At Elgin on Monday, Cobie Chandler scored a careerhigh 18 points, and it was the Lady Badgers’ third straight win against a team from a larger class.

The Badgers’ 2020 season will be remembered for defending their district title -- and the simple fact they even got a season in, when many sports were canceled this year due to coronavirus concerns and the resulting shutdown of schools and events.

The Badgers earned the first win over a Conference 5A team in head coach Aaron Nuckles’ career on Monday, then they coasted past Austin Achieve on Tuesday. They enter the Thanksgiving break with a 4-1 record and will return to action Monday at home against Brady.

On Tuesday, Lampasas faced a newer 4A team, Austin Achieve, on the road. The Polar Bears’ basketball team has done better than their football team, which went 1-5 and scored just 77 points all year but still made the playoffs.

The Badger JV lost 56-55 to East View on Monday. Luke Shivers had his best offensive day, with 22 points.

Andrew Body scored eight touchdowns for Corpus Christi Miller, and a stop on fourth and one saved the Buccaneers’ 54-49 win after the Badgers fought back from a 19-point deficit. The Badgers (9-1) reached the Miller five-yard line on their last drive and had momentum from 14 unanswered points and two huge defensive stops.
