In the late 1960s, a friend called me to look at some guns he wanted to get rid of. He had been a first sergeant during World War II where he served in the forces occupying Germany. He had shipped a lot of war trophies home, including uniforms, swords and knives as well as some guns.

Two teams that Lampasas beat this season advanced to the football state semifinals. District opponent Austin LBJ won 59-54 over the Corpus Christi Miller Buccaneers, the team that eliminated the Badgers two weeks earlier.
