Iredell eliminated the Lometa Lady Hornets by a 38-33 score in the area basketball championship in Dublin on Saturday. The Lady Hornets had only one day of practice with the full team last week due to winter weather, but they held their own against the No.

Lampasas’ last district basketball game against Brownwood is canceled, and the Lions conceded second place in district to the Badgers. The two team had been in a close race fo second, and winter weath delayed the game for almo a week before it eventuall was canceled altogether.

The Lady Badgers’ district soccer match against Burnet has been moved to Feb. 22 in Lampasas at 5:30 p.m.

After in-person classes were canceled all week, Lometa still was scheduled to play basketball playoff games this weekend, according to the latest information at press time. The Lometa boys’ game is set for 2 p.m.
