The Lampasas Middle School seventh-grade boys placed first at their home track meet on Wednesday with a total of 275 points.

Lampasas Middle School placed second in both the seventh-grade girls’ division and eighth-grade girls’ division of the Lady Badgers’ home meet on Wednesday. “The girls did a fantastic job, and we are very proud of their efforts,” coach Christy Wiley said.

Ace Whitehead threw 18 strikeouts in a 1-0 district win over Gatesville on Tuesday.

Carson Bekker scored the only run of the game on a passed ball in the bottom of the sixth. 

Alyssa Ayers set a regional record for the 123-pound weight class with an 850-pound, three-lift total at Dublin on Friday. Ayers also qualified for state for the fourth time in her career, earned her third straight regional title and had the best squat, bench, deadlift and total in all the light classes.

Lampasas (3-6-1) started the Killeen ISD tournament with a 5-3 win over Killeen Ellison, regaining the lead in the sixth inning on Thursday. Later in the three-day tournament, the Badgers tied the Shoemaker Grey Wolves 9-9, lost to the Harker Heights Knights 9-4 and beat the Killeen Kangaroos 9-8, holding off a late rally.

The Lampasas varsity boys finished fifth at the Brownwood track meet on Friday, behind Harker Heights, Killeen High, Brock and Stephenville. The Lady Badgers placed seventh.

The Badgers and Lady Badgers hosted Georgetown East View, Gatesville and Round Rock McNeil for a wrestling quad-meet on Saturday. Several Lampasas wrestlers won all their matches for the day: Anthony Harris, 3-0; Brianna Miller, 2-0; Sean Miller, 2-0; and Mia Martell 1-0. Rylan Myers and Jonathan Dill each went 2-1.
