Lady ’Dogs overcome five-run deficit to win in extra innings

Aspen Wheeler’s solo home run started a string of six unanswered runs for Lampasas, but Burnet came back to win 8-7 on the Lady ’Dogs home field Tuesday. Burnet scored three runs in the sixth inning, three in the seventh and then the game-winner by outfielder Elyse De Arcos in the bottom of the eighth -- the only run scored in extra innings.

Wrestlers face off with larger schools at Ellison tri-meet

Competing in a tri-meet with Killeen Ellison and Hutto, Lampasas had mixed results. Briana Pickett had Lampasas’ best record for the day, 2-0. Taylyn Smith, Landon DiBattiste and Jonathan Dill each went 1-1. Kenli Wiley, Karli Wiley, Mia Martell, Brianna Miller, Brooklyn Dressel, Sean Miller, Rylan Myers, Jacob Miller, Anthony Harris and Hank Kielpinski also competed.

Martell places at Terminator world wrestling championship

LMS girls’ track teams place second on Wednesday

Lampasas Middle School placed second in both the seventh-grade girls’ division and eighth-grade girls’ division of the Lady Badgers’ home meet on Wednesday. “The girls did a fantastic job, and we are very proud of their efforts,” coach Christy Wiley said.
