Girls’ golfers take 73-stroke lead in first district round

LeeAnn Parker placed first individually (shooting 73), and the LHS Girls’ Blue Team dominated Monday’s opening round of the district golf tournament in Glen Rose. After the first round on a hilly Squaw Valley Golf Course in Glen Rose, round two will be April 5 at Gatesville Country Club.

Rutland, Gholson lead LMS golfers at Hancock

Lady Badger Paige Rutland placed first individually, and Timber Gholson earned second for the Badgers at Lampasas Middle School’s golf tournament Monday at Hancock Park Golf Course. The LMS boys’ blue team placed second with a score of 214.

JV tennis sees some success at Killeen

The Badger JV tennis team competed in windy conditions at a tournament at Killeen on Tuesday against mostly larger schools. Hannah Durbin went 3-1 on the day, taking third in girls’ singles.

LHS track advances to area in most field events

On the first day of district track and field, Lampasas qualified for area in several field events. Field events and running prelims were held Wednesday in Brownwood, with running finals to follow at the same site Thursday after press time.
