Hornets’ opening match at state is Thursday

Lometa Hornets Enrique Caso Prado and Francisco Jaimes – who have a 13-2 record this spring -- will face Borden County Coyotes Brandt Behrens and Ky Edwards in the opening round of the eight-team Conference 1A boys’ state tennis tournament on Thursday.

Tennis clinic offered next week

Lampasas High School head tennis coach Kenneth Peiser will lead a summer tennis clinic for multiple ages May 24-27. Incoming first-through fifth-graders will meet each day from 8-9 a.m.

Summer conditioning program starts in June

Speed, Weight and Agility Training at Lampasas High School will be open to all incoming seventh-through 12-grade Badger and Lady Badger athletes this summer. Workouts will be at LHS from 8-10 a.m. four days a week, beginning June 1.

Brookreson ends college softball career

Blakeli Brookreson, a 2017 Lampasas High School graduate, scored a run and had a stolen base in the last softball game of her senior season at Abilene Christian University. The 4-3 extra-innings loss to Southeastern Louisiana eliminated the Wildcats from the Southland Conference Tournament on Wednesday.

Moyer earns all-GAC softball

Kyndal Moyer, a 2018 Lampasas High School graduate, was named a Great American Conference Distinguished Scholar Athlete. Moyer is a junior outfielder on the Ouachita Baptist University softball team.

Title chase cut short; LHS has closest finish on record

The Lady Badger golf team finished two strokes away from the state title after Day 2 of the tournament was cut short during the final stretch due to reports of lightning in the area. Lampasas was third with a 27-hole score of 317-160--477.
