Former Badger quarterback nominated for state coaching recognition

Former Lampasas Badger quarterback Lee Wiginton has been nominated for the office of president-elect of the Texas High School Coaches Association. Wiginton, now the head coach at Heritage High School in Midlothian, is one of three nominees for the position that will be voted on at the THSCA Coaching School and Convention this week.

Lometa FFA rodeo action set

The Lometa FFA will host its annual youth rodeo this weekend. Rodeo organizers expect to feature between 60 and 100 young cowboys and cowgirls competing in a variety of rodeo activities from barrel racing to roping on Friday and Saturday.

LHS cross country schedule

Lampasas High School cross country practice was scheduled to start Monday, July 12. This will be the Badgers’ first season under new head coach Macey Siegert, a former state cross country runner from Seymour.

Soccer association offers openings on several fall teams

The Lampasas Soccer Association is seeking players for its boys’ 16U (born in 2007 and younger), 15U (born in 2008 and younger) and 13U (born in 2009 and younger) teams. LSA teams play in the Capital Area Youth Soccer Association leagues and travel to away games in the greater Austin area. Home games are played in Lampasas. Currently, no girls’ teams are formed due to insufficient interest.
