The Badgers will host the Elgin Wildcats Friday night in their second game of the year, and they are looking to bounce back after losing to Brownwood in week one. Elgin also lost its first game of the football season to Akins, 27-0.

A field goal as time expired gave the Brownwood Lions a 58-55 win Friday night at home in a back-and-forth affair that Lampasas led for long stretches. Standouts for the Badgers were Case Brister, Dylan Sanchez, Ethan Moreno and Nate Borchardt.

Hornets win big in season-opener at home

The Lometa Hornets put up more than 70 points on their way to winning their first game of the season on Thursday. The final score was 74-40 for the Hornets over the Lingleville Cardinals.

Cross country brings home five medals from Belton Invitational

The Badger cross country squad came away with five medals and a second-place finish for the girls’ team after they ran at Wildflower Country Club in Temple on Friday morning. “Abby Valdez, Nyla Long and Tate Brown each brought home a medal from the varsity girls’ race,” head coach Macey Siegert said.
