The Badgers have finished second in District 13-4A after winning a close game over the Fredericksburg Billies Friday night on the road. A back-and-forth 52-42 victory for the Badgers was the outcome, after they outscored the Billies 35-14 in the second half of the game.

The Lady Badgers traveled to East View on Saturday and picked up a double-digit win in the first non-scrimmage, regular-season basketball game of the year. The final score was 52-37.

The Lampasas boys’ basketball team led after only one of four scrimmages they hosted on Saturday. The Badgers are playing with just eight players instead of the normal 11 or 12, because they are waiting on a few who are still competing in football, including Dax Brookreson, Nate Borchardt and Carter Johnson who is working his way back after a knee injury.

The Badger freshman team beat Fredericksburg 41-13 Thursday night. Reed Jerome threw for Reed Jerome threw for three touchdowns and returned an interception for a touchdown while playing on defense.

The Lampasas junior varsity tennis team went to Georgetown Thursday for an all-day tournament. Tournaments consist of either singles or doubles play.

Lampasas hopes to end a two-game losing streak in district play when the team travels to Fredericksburg to take on the Billies in the final district game of the year. The Billies sit at 3-1 in district play, and the Badgers are 2-2.

The Lady Badgers are looking to pick up more than 20 wins for the fourth straight year and make the playoffs for the fifth straight year, as basketball season is underway in Lampasas. The Lady Badgers have eight returning lettermen and two freshmen on the varsity roster.
