Charli Taylor showed the champion 6-class buck rabbit at the 85th annual Lampasas County Youth Livestock Show, held Jan. 6-8 at the livestock center.

Taking reserve champion honors in the 6-class buck division was Jenna Taylor. She also was named the junior showman for rabbits.

The Lady Badgers hosted a tough Brownwood team on Tuesday for a chance to move to 2-0 in district play. Lampasas led for most of the game and was able to create some separation after a couple of scoring runs that eventually led to the 55-43 final tally.

The Badgers are 17-10 overall after non-district play has come to an end. They will be on the road at Stephenville tonight to play their first district game in pursuit of a district championship.

The Lady Badgers soccer team traveled to Waco to play La Vega on Tuesday and came up short, losing 3-0. Keona Cartwright was a standout for the Lady Badgers.

The Badgers lost 4-2 to Wimberley on the road Tuesday for their first loss of the season. Sophomore Landon Richardson scored from the penalty spot, and Tate Rainwater scored on an assist from Richardson for the Badgers’ two goals.

The Lady Badgers started district play about as well as they could have hoped, as they beat the Gatesville Lady Hornets 88-23 on the road. Lampasas started strong, continued its dominance through the middle of the game and finished on top.
