The Lady Badgers hosted Stephenville on Tuesday and lost 65-42. The girls started well and were down by five points, 27-22, at the half after playing tough defense and not allowing the Honeybees to get much going.

The Badgers competed in a 19-team golf tournament at Hancock Park Golf Course in Lampasas on Monday. They finished fourth overall, shooting a 327 as a team.

Keona Cartwright played well for the Lady Badgers once again last Friday, as she came away with 38 saves in the soccer game. The Lampasas girls lost 7-0, but their effort never stopped, the coach said, and Cartwright was a main reason the score was not worse than it was.

The Badgers had some success when they traveled to College Station last week for a wrestling meet. “The team wrestled hard in a tough tournament and got to see a lot of our district opponents,” head coach Donovan Kleckner said.

Lampasas traveled to Brownwood on Friday for a battle of teams undefeated in district play. The 3-0 Badgers took on the 3-0 Lions for a chance to get sole possession of first place in the district.

Both the Badgers and Lady Badgers had good showings at the Burnet powerlifting meet on Thursday. “The Lampasas boys’ team was seventh-place overall with 17 points,” coach David Brister said.

The Lady Badgers entered Friday’s game with a chance to all but secure third place in the district with a win over Brownwood. The girls came out strong and were leading 30-19 at halftime.
