Five Badger players combined for eight touchdowns in a 56-7 win at Burnet on Friday. The Badgers (1-0 in district, 3-3 overall) snapped a three-game losing streak and beat their biggest rival on the road for the first time since 2011. 

The Lampasas High School tennis team's first playoff match is set for 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16 against Wimberley. Wimberley is coming off a recent 10-3 loss to Boerne.
