Students in Vickie McQueen's classes at Hanna Springs Elementary and Taylor Creek Elementary had several special guests from the pages of history this week.

Abraham Lincoln, looking very similar to Randy Hoyer, spoke to students about his presidency of the United States during the Civil War.

Amelia Earhart, who bears close resemblance to Alicia Straley, told students about her life as a female pilot, aviation pioneer and author in the early 20th century.

Boy Scout Troop 200 members and Eagle Scout candidates Logan Horn, left, and Devyn Moore stand next to their scoutmaster, Larry Eddinger, after Eddinger was named a Community Champion. The honor, presented during the Lampasas City Council meeting Oct. 22, recognized Eddinger for his leadership and dedication to local Scouts.

Jonna Langford, special education teacher, Lindsay Duhon, vice principal, Liz Haviland, instructional coach, Leslie Talamantes, principal, and Jaci Bumpus, counselor, strut their rock n' roll stuff during Rock Your School day at Hanna Springs Elementary on Thursdsay. The national campaign encourages special lesson programs and rock n' roll attire to promote creative learning and school pride.
