Lee and Kathleen Hoffpauir hosted the annual Boys & Girls Club of Lampasas barn dance fundraiser May 18 at their ranch in Nix. It is estimated that after expenses are paid, the event will net $325,000 for the Boys & Girls Club, Lee Hoffpauir said.

The flag at Lampasas Police Department flies at half-staff in observance of Peace Officers Memorial Day on Wednesday. The national observance started in 1962, when President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation designating May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which that date falls as Police Week.

LAMPASAS HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS TO COMPETE AT REGIONAL UIL SATURDAY
DISPATCH RECORD 
Lampasas High School UIL competitors competed at regionals in Corpus Christi on Saturday.
At the district level, LHS placed second overall, with a total of 480 points. Students who placed first, second or third individually in their category move forward to the regional competition at the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi campus.
