The flag at Lampasas Police Department flies at half-staff in observance of Peace Officers Memorial Day on Wednesday. The national observance started in 1962, when President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation designating May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which that date falls as Police Week.

At the state track meet Saturday, Cameron Everts won gold in the 300-meter hurdles, with a time of 38.07. The Badger 4x400-meter relay team placed second, behind Waco LaVega but ahead of Liberty Hill at 3:20.26.

Hanna Springs Elementary School Assistant Principal Lindsay Duhon has been selected to become the campus principal, Lampasas Independent School District Superintendent Dr. Chane Rascoe announced.

Addison White

Lampasas High School senior Addison White has been announced as a 2019 National Merit Scholarship awardee. 
White is among 2,500 students in the nation to be awarded a $2,500 scholarship through the National Merit Scholarship Corp.
