B.R. "Skipper" Wallace has announced he is stepping down after 28 years as Lampasas County Republican Party chairman.
The resignation will take effect Jan. 15 -- the anniversary of when Wallace began leading the county GOP.

The Lady Badgers (22-3) won their 11th straight basketball game -- their first in district -- Friday at Salado. The final score was 52-41.

A benefit has been set this Sunday for Julius Castruita, who was burned in an accident in December. 

A benefit for a 6-year-old who suffered severe burns is set for Sunday.
Julius Castruita sustained burns over 20 percent of his body when he fell from a garden fixture onto an active barbecue pit, family friend Ginnefer Cook said.
