Julia Gorman Ryan, 79, of Lampasas died March 2, 2018 at Scott & White Medical Center in Temple.
Her body will be cremated, and a memorial service will be April 6 at 2 p.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church. Sneed Funeral Chapel has charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Ryan was born May 4, 1938 in Brooklyn, New York, the daughter of James Gorman and Julia (Donolen) Gorman.
She had lived in Lampasas most of her life and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. She was a professional cook, having worked in many restaurants including Martin’s and Country Kitchen. She loved to travel and be with her family and dog Prince.
Mrs. Ryan is survived by four children, Arlene Barton (James), Creighton Ryan (Jenny), Ginger York (Tom) and Kevin Martinez (Sheila); a sister, Sally Foster (John); a brother, Danny Gorman; grandchildren, Melissa Anderson (Michael), Rodney Moon (Melissa), Timothy Moon, Ervin Williams, Ernie Williams, Crystal Posey (Sam), Erik Harris, Amanda Turner, Brian Bruns, Kristi Morua (Fidel), Tommy York (Jessica), John York, Emily Martinez and Brittany Martinez; 16 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by an infant son Ted Lee; a son, Theodore Ryan; and by eight brothers.
