This winter was colder than normal -- but not coldest ever

Despite producing the longest stretch of subfreezing temperatures in Central Texas history, the overall 2020-2021 winter was well away from becoming the coldest ever, according to the Lower Colorado River Authority. Friday was the last official day of winter, as spring began March 20. LCRA data show that Lampasas had 31 freezing days this winter, compared to a long-term average of 45 per year. …
