Sylvano C. Sanchez, 91, of Lampasas died June 5, 2018 at his home.

Funeral Mass will be June 9 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Rosary will be recited June 8 at 6 p.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel.

Mr. Sanchez was born May 4, 1927 in Burnet, the son of Abraham Sanchez and Sebera (Castillo) Sanchez. He had been a resident of Lampasas all his life.

He married Eluteria Torres, and she preceded him in death.

Mr. Sanchez was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Lampasas. He was retired from the City of Lampasas Parks Department. He had helped build parts of the original nine holes at Hancock Park Golf Course and the adjoining springs at the pool. He was an avid gardener.

He is survived by children, Rose Quenomoen (Bob), Maria Sunberg (Allan), Mary Lou Plumley (Shane), Victoria Purser (Rick), Dora Davila (Lonnie), Sandy Amador (Xavier), Delores Gonzales (David), Sophia Lerma, Elaine Sanchez, Henry Sanchez, Sylvano Sanchez Jr., Richard Sanchez, Jeremiah Sanchez and Joey Sanchez Lerma; 116 grandchildren; and numerous greatgrandchildren and greatgreat-grandchildren.

Mr. Sanchez also was preceded in death by his sons, Robert T. Sanchez, Daniel Sanchez and Johnny Sanchez; by daughters, Sylvia Sanchez and Sandra Lerma; brothers, Andrew Sanchez and Fred Sanchez; and sisters, Elizabeth Barton, Nikki Elliott and Doloro Sanchez.
