EDITOR’S NOTE: This column is a tongue-in-cheek take on fitness for a “prepper” or survival situation, inspired by the fictional “zombie apocalypse” movie genre. A banquet for New Beginning of Restoration and Hope Pregnancy Resource Center is scheduled Nov. 6 at First United Methodist Church, located at 2 Alexander Lane in Lampasas.

Lometa L-M Garden and Civic Club had its monthly meeting Oct. 18. Members car-pooled from the club building to Cooper Spring Nature Park in Lampasas to enjoy a guided walking tour, led by Harrell Clary, Rex Johnson and Neal Leavell.
