Sisters compete in 4-H District Roundup

Several Martin sisters – the daughters of Lee and Tammy Carroll Martin of Kempner – participated April 29 in the District 7 4-H Roundup and brought home ribbons from the competition. Allison Martin placed fifth in the senior division Educational Presentation in Agriculture Resources.

District Fashion Show participants bring home several ribbons

Lampasas County 4-H members participated recently in District 7 fashion competitions. Allison Martin earned second place in Everyday Living Construction, first place in Bracelet, and first place in Natural Fiber Cotton, which qualifies her to advance to the State Roundup.

Dispatch receives South Texas Press awards

Kline Whitis students place in state rabies poster contest

The Texas Department of State Health Services has announced its winners in the annual Rabies Awareness & Prevention Poster Contest. The contest is open to students in kindergarten through 12th grade, and artwork from topranking posters is eligible for use in state-sponsored public health educational projects.
