The Lampasas Veterans of Foreign Wars post and its Auxiliary are sponsoring scholarships this year for students attending public, private, parochial or home schools in the high school and middle school grades.

Hill Country Radio new home to ‘Ken & Casey Morning Show’

A new radio station has come to town, and it’s the new home for the popular “Ken & Casey Morning Show.” Hill Country Radio aired for the first time in July and already has an average daily listener count of 3,000, said cofounder Christy Bartt. “We play a mixture of top hits from the ’80s, ’90s, ’00s and today,” she said.

Student named recipient of national scholarship

The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation has announced that Zachary Inglis of Lampasas is among 49 high school graduates participating in the Cooke Young Scholars program who have been named Cooke College Scholars.

Coach named director of alternative ed program

After years of coaching and teaching at the middle school level, Warren Scott has stepped into the role of director for Lampasas’ Disciplinary Alternative Education Program. After learning that previous director Ray Otterson was stepping down, Scott said he had not planned on applying, “but something in my heart told me to go ahead and try it, so I did.” Scott’s experiences in the school district have equipped him to take on the role.
