The Lampasas Unit of the Salvation Army, Lampasas Mission, Lampasas Ministerial Alliance, Lampasas Police Officers Association and Keepin It Local have been coordinating efforts to assist residents of the eight units affected by the May 31 fire at the River Park Village East Apartments.

From the beginning of April through the end of May, I visited with over 1,200 elementary students. Before I continue, I would just like to say to all teachers who spend their days with these young minds: I admire you, and you are true rock stars.

This year, Lometa High School submitted the names of four candidates for Girls State. The school was allotted only one space, however, and the American Legion Auxiliary committee decided Maria Castillo would most benefit from the Girls State experience.
