Missy Dunning’s fourth-grade class at Hanna Springs Elementary won the door decorating contest with the theme from Dr. Seuss’ “My Many Colored Days.” For their reward, the class taped the elementary school principal to a door.

Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is hosting a community-wide benefit dinner and cake auction March 3 at 7 p.m. at Grace Fellowship to support LLS and the family of Peyton Jones.

Madisyn Morua, a student at Lampasas High School who is fighting cancer, also will be honored.

Lampasas High School junior Coby Campbell managed to place 11th in the Association of Texas Small School Bands All-State band, earning a performance with the prestigious group. He is the third student in 50 years to make the band.
